On the morning of June 14th, excavators waved their arms, lifted buckets, laid down shovels, and broke the earth, which meant the civil engineering construction process of the first 60kV substation (Sao Pedro) of Luanda Electrification and Household-Connection Project started.
Sao Pedro Substation is near Sao Pedro Church in Cazenga city, and this substation contains one main transformer, one substation transformer, and four-circuit outgoing line. This substation will improve power shortage situation in Cazenga city after it’s built.
Luanda Electrification and Household-Connection Project mainly contains nine 60kV substation, 50km 60kV Overhead transmission line, 500km urban medium voltage overhead line, 50km medium voltage buried cable, 2200km low voltage overhead line and 145km low voltage buried cable, about 6000km household-connection line, and installation of prepaid electric meter for 300 000 households
For the time being, the project department has already installed 17000 low-voltage electric poles, and all medium and low voltage electric poles in the 50 distribution transformer stations which were firstly charged.
