At 9 am local time, on April 25^th, the paving of test section of asphalt lower layer of Soyo Highway Project in Angola was successfully completed, which marked the whole project stepped into the stage of asphalt pavement construction.

The project is located on the coast of the Atlantic, with a total length of 149km. International Corporation of SONOHTDRO BUREAU 4 CO., LTD is responsible for the fifth tender of the project, including all engineering contents of 96km road of the K8+850-K104+909 tender, except 6 bridges. The project is one of the largest engineering projects constructed by SINOHYDRO Corporation in Angola, and also it is one of the largest overseas engineering projects constructed by SONOHTDRO ENGINEERING BUREAU 4 CO., LTD. Thetest section of asphalt lower layerwas laid on the right side of tender K69+500 - K69+700. In order to avoid longitudinal cold joint, two paving machines were used to cooperate, which not only ensured the quality of construction, but also greatly improved the construction efficiency.

In order to complete the above works with high quality and high standards, lead members of the project department planned ahead and made decisions scientifically. Before construction, the project department arranged technicians to train machine operators and field management personnel in technology and safety. During paving process, lead members of the project department asked constructors to work in accordance with standards. All construction links was fully monitored, like the size of paving layer, temperature of bituminous mixture, and surface quality of paving layer and so on. At last, to provide technical support for the project department to fully carry out asphalt pavement construction next, laboratory and measurement group tested the degree of compaction, smoothness and thickness of pavedsection, and collected relevant data and construction pictures in time.
